Reality Makes Me Realize Things

Thu Apr 9, 2009, 8:05 AM
Sometimes being a Negative Nelly can have it’s perks; especially when it comes to predictions. You are either expecting a result, and if something good happens, you are surprised.

Well, several things:

My partner - That fell through immediately. I got a text that said he loved my ideas, but that was it. I never got any response from him via e-mail. It has not stopped me this time, however.

Me - I’m drawing, damnit! I’m actually drawing on my free time like I used to. Something happened in High School or College when I stopped drawing during my free time. Well, I know what happened - table top games and video games. Anyways, I've made sure to go back to drawing for at least an hour. I’ve made sure to readjust how I place the paper - normally I draw on a pad of paper that is at an extreme angle. It often creates slanted images. I’m trying to keep the pad vertical to myself now.

My art - Bwahahahahahahaha! I need practice! No comics for me (unless its cartoon characters) until I’m comfortable drawing bodies and faces. I’m working on the male form right now, then when I can freehand a male body in different poses, I’ll move on to the female form. So my first art pad is going to be filled with near-nude Adonisi (the plural of Adonis?) and Nymphs.

I just realized that maybe I don’t have to be able to draw a human form without reference, but rather be comfortable enough to where I can see an image and draw the form without excessive resizing and reworking. That did not make sense, did it?

Either way, I’m comfortable at my progress. Since I was always bad at completing the body, I’m focusing on that rather than the face. Faces come later, since I know I can draw those with at least a little skill. Speaking of which, I purchased a book of expressions. I was hoping that there was a book of expressions. I’m looking forward to using it!
